Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS)
Connect with other mission-minded women by getting involved with LWMS. At our gatherings, we hear directly from missionaries about their work at home and throughout the world. We join together to pray for and encourage them in their efforts to share the gospel. LWMS also supports selected mission projects through financial offerings.
As one of nearly 900 participating congregations, women members of CTL have automatic membership into LWMS. Our regional circuit is made up of churches in the Metro Milwaukee area and meets biannually in April and October. The annual national convention is held at the end of June and is hosted by a chosen LWMS circuit throughout the country. During the rest of the year, you can help LWMS further its mission by volunteering through its West Allis office.
SLICE (Sisters Living in Christ Eternally)
Join our women’s book club as we read and discuss a variety of Christian literature. Here, we find encouragement and enrichment while growing in our understanding of God’s Word. SLICE meets on the first and third Mondays of the month, September through May, at 6:15 p.m. in the Upper Room. Contact Gail Lumsden for more information.
Christian Woman Today Retreat
Get away for a weekend of spiritual renewal every March at our Christian Woman Today retreat held at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield. Our mission is to glorify God, grow in His grace, and serve one another as sisters in Christ. We have numerous keynote speakers and breakout sessions, as well as music, entertainment, and a banquet. The weekend concludes with a Sunday morning worship service. The event is planned by a committee from CTL but is open to women from any congregation. For more information, see Charlotte Wharton or visit ChristianWomanToday.org. Find us on Facebook at Christian Woman Today Retreat.
