Our congregational family is part of a larger family, a church body known as the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The third largest Lutheran church body in America, we have more than 1,250 congregations in the U.S. and 20 other countries, many with Lutheran Elementary Schools and/or preschools. The synod is headquartered in Waukesha at our Center for Mission and Ministry office.

Wisconsin Lutheran High School
Christ the Lord Lutheran School is part of a conference of grade schools that is affiliated with Wisconsin Lutheran High School. In partnership with over 50 area WELS congregations, “Wisco” provides comprehensive secondary-level Christian education for students in the Metro Milwaukee area. Wisco exists to make disciples of young people and their families, now and for eternity, by developing in them a Biblical worldview, as well as the personal skills necessary for a lifetime of service to Jesus in their homes, churches, careers, and communities. While the main intent is to educate laypeople who will pursue careers in the secular world, many graduates also go on to a life in public ministry. With a history dating back to 1903, it is the oldest operating Lutheran high school in the country.
