Lutheran Girl Pioneers (LGP) is a program open to all girls of our church and school who are in grades 1-8. Each meeting features a special activity – hiking, cooking, making care packages for shut-ins, organizing an annual mitten drive, and exercising, to name just a few. Three times a year, our caravan from Christ the Lord also gets together with the other Milwaukee District LGP caravans for bowling and rollerskating events, plus a day camp in June.
In addition to fun and fellowship, our leaders plan meetings and events to allow girls to become servant leaders in the church, school, and home. We stress the importance of being “Loyal to Christ,” while showing compassion through service projects that benefit others in our church, school, and community.
LGP generally meets two Mondays per month throughout the school year, starting right after school at 3:20 p.m. until 5 p.m. Occasionally, we meet on Friday evenings or weekends to allow those girls who cannot attend Monday meetings a chance to be part of LGP on a limited basis. Our annual dues are $45 per child and $30 for each additional child, which covers the costs of activities and food for the year.
Moms and other women of CTL: We welcome you to share your special talents, help coordinate and/or chaperone events, or serve as a group leader.
