The Sunday School is once again hosting the annual Christmas gift collection for needy children in Mexico, through WELS Mission to the Children. The gift collection began October 27 and will continue through Sunday, November 24, and is open to members of the congregation. The display and information sheets for the gift collection are in the church hallway. You may choose a child’s name to buy a gift for, at a cost of around $10 – $12, and bring the gift, wrapped, to the collection bin at church by November 24. We will ship them to the WELS Mission to the Children office in Tucson, AZ, and then the missionaries and staff drive them across the border to several villages in northern Mexico. The missionaries deliver the gifts to the children at special Christmas fiestas, where they will present the Christmas story to the children. We will be packing up the gifts for shipping on the afternoon of Sunday, November 24 – so late gifts cannot be accepted. We have a grant from Thrivent this year to help offset some of the cost of this gift collection. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Vickie Walther.
